I wanna have some fun today. Not that I don’t have fun most every day, but this time I’m gonna drag you in on it too!
So here’s the deal. I have this nifty little SanDisk Cruzer 8GB Flash Drive and I’m going to give it away to some lucky guy or gal. Brand spankin’ new in the wrapper and everything.
How do you win? The rules are simple – just leave a comment below telling me why YOU are the one who deserves to win.
Easy as pie. OK, it’s actually easier than pie, at least for me, since I couldn’t bake my way out of a paper bag. Or something like that.
Anyhow, we’ll shut down the comments sometime next Tuesday around noon or so and pick our winner at random. Now, we’re gonna send you an e-mail when you win, so make sure you are looking for it, OK? If you don’t respond to our e-mail within 48 hours, you forfeit the prize and we’re gonna give it to someone else. Got it?
Good!
So, go on, click the Comments link below and tell me why you are oh-so-deserving of this amazing little flash drive.
Have fun
~Steve
PS – Hey, by the way, we DO moderate comments to keep the spammers from tricking you into a lifetime supply of Viagra, so don’t freak out if you don’t see your comment posted right away. I’ll get to it. Promise. Right after my nap, and once I’m done walking the dog, and I think the cat just choked up a furball…
Where was I?
PPS – By the way, if you put a link to a website into your post in any way, shape or form, I’ll probably think it’s spam and toss it into the trash-o-la. Just FYI

Computer Tips with MS Office Tips Newsletter
Hi Steve
I never apply for these contests. But, this morning, I thought, Oh, what the heck, I’ll give it a go. I am busy up here in Sunny Downtown Pefferlaw, Canada ( a little town 60 miles north of Toronto) working on income taxes; and a flash drive would go a long way to helping me manage my files while I am on the road. Thanks for the Blogs, I always take a minute to read them.
Have a wonderful day
Cheers
Bev
Oops just posted a comment and I realized that I used my “other” email address
I receive the blogs and the computer tips on my “other” email address which is c.warner@rogers.com
Sorry about that (although I get all emails from either of the addresses)
Bev, it’s NEVER a good idea to post your email in “public” like this. There are other reading these blogs that do not have your best interests in mind and you may end up on a long list of spammers, who in turn sell your email address to more spammers. The email you put in the box on this site is not “published”, so you should not have posted one in the comments section. Never, ever do that.
I read your blog and the computer tips every day. I have learned a lot from your tips. I need the flash drive so I can save all your tips that apply to me. Thanks.
Hi I would love to win because i really need the extra storage space!
Well, I read ALL the posts and even though I don’t stand a chance to win I thought I would comment anyway. Just wishing everyone here “Good Luck” !! Steve, I want to wish you good luck in sorting through all the comments…..your job will be a tough one!! Ciao!!
Simply put, I could never afford to buy one.
A Flash drive To keep all the family reunion pictures for the next generation to see.
Just think what they will think of us when they see how we dressed and wear our hair. ;.)
Love your Newsletters, Grins and the blog haven’t missed a day for over 10 years.
Even pass a lot of your thing on to my friends. Have lerned a lot from you all on how to do things. .
High praise for your quick responce to question I have had. Your all great. Keep up the great work.
I would love to get this because when your on A fixed income it’s hard to buy everything you need.
Why not send the flash drive to me. I read your blog and tips EVERY day and buy stuff from you when appropriate . My computer skills are almost all due to your inputs. Thanks. . .
I think I should win the flashdrive because I read all the blogs! EVEN THE BORING ONES. Good luck all
Because I’m old, on a fixed income and life is too short [expecially for me] to go on with out such a wonderful flash drive!
Wow..absolutely would love to win this flash drive. With a teenager in the house it would really help..lol. Keep up the great work and thank you so much for this opportunity to win.
Gotta tell you, really like the blog. That being said, I could use the extra storage space for transferring my photos to friends and family. You can never have enough storage when you take photos. You know that right? Anyway – I’d really just like to win something for a change.
Winning this may be a chane but the change your looking for is that enough storage is available on sd cards not flash drives.
I truly enjoy reading the blog and computer hints that are emailed to me. I have even taken advantage of some of the products on sale from time to time. I would love to win the flash drive to hold and move many of the pictures that I take!
Hold and move are not valid commands on flash drives suggest you use Picaso, Photobucket or whatever to get what you really want or simply load them on the right device in the first place.
I have been a Subscriber to your newsletters for severial years, and have purchased many items from you.
Also, I do not like pie, I am a cookie eater!!!
Pie oh my but the cookie monster will devour a flash drive in seconds. I wouldn”t have a flash drive in the house if I were you.
I deserve the free flashdrive because I’m a grandma who’s been separated from her grandchildren whom she loves very much and doesn’t get to see very often and doesn’t always carry her computer when she does get to visit and it would come in handy when I do.
Are you visiting the computer or grandkids? Or is your computer to big to carry and come for a visit? All a flash drive would do is cheat every one of the real thing i.e. your computer or their grandma.
All your members should win one. Your stuff is great. Been a member for about 10 years. Keep it up. Thanks. Hal.
I agree!!! But shouldn’t we get one for every year?
Great job with the tips and I enjoy the blogs. The flash drive would be a big help for my son to store his homework papers on. Keep up the good work. Have a great day! We have snow on the ground yet again in NE Ohio so I’m anxiously waiting for spring!
Most schools give out special flash drives for free when homework is to be put on it instead of paper. Ask Steve to send some to your son’s school so as to be fair to all students and so as not to single any one out as advantaged or disadvantaged.
I have been doing computers through Windows 95, 98, ME, and now XP. I never got Vista but may soon get Windows 7, even though I hear Windows 8 is out or soon will be. I have been through my share of goods and bads with computers. I believe I deserve a chance at something that will help make my computer life easier , a lot more enjoyable, and fun! I would love to win, but to me the enjoyment is playing the game. Good luck to you and to the winner!
Steve,
I read and subscribe to your newsletters and blog and have definitely put many of your comments and tips to work!! I do not own a flash drive but have always wondered how they work plus I could use the extra storage for my pc!!
Thanks!
First they plug into you usb port but I am sure the newsletters mentioned that at least once for you to put them work.
Falure to own a flash drive or extra storage for pics is nothing to wonder at as to how thay work. Trust me they will come directions even a free one so you should ask Steve just for the free directions. I bet he will send them ASAP! Why wait for a contest to end?
I have been a loyal customer of World start for many years, and Steve you have had some real good tips which I read everyday and purchased many items since I signed up with Steve.
Steve is the best even if you say his name twice in one blog but flash drive is the subject to kiss up to.
I could use the flash drve because I have all ready given away all the others I have bought in the past. I usually get a computer/laptop fixed up and give it away to someone that could really use one. I throw the flash/jump dirve in as an extra little gift. I just put the last one in a with a Netbook I gave to my granddaughter.
This is good to pass it on but this is new and should not be treated as another used give away.
My computer is old ( only 10 g harddrive ) so space is limited.Christmas pictures are still in the camera so the flash would store all of them and more.
Camers have sb cards for storage a flash drive will not fit.
I have gotten World Start newsletter since my 1st week on the PC years ago. Your site has taught me most of what I know about PCs and has allowed me to help others. A flash drive would help me to be able to take files with me to help other people with their computers. I never thought I had a chance to win anything but after seeing a man I went to school with win a new SUV at a store grand opening and 2 people I know win millions in the lottery I guess they are right when they say “you never know”. Not getting my hopes up though, lol.
You will never know, if you don’t ask them for a ride or loan or even a flsh drive will you.
I love your blogs. I need to back up my system because my hard drive is dying & I don’t have a big enough flash drive. I seldom leave comments but just want to say Thank You & God Bless you for all your hard work.
God Bless you too and sad to hear your hard drive is near death. My motherboard and power suppy died just last month. Walmart has a new system for $298 without screen since the screens seem to be eternal. A flash drive is not a resurrection or cure for the dead or dying.
Hi I have never done this before but it seems that every time I tried to enter for anything here in the Northwest nobody wins…I am a senior and I have never won anything before….this is my first time I have done a comment to win…but I hope I do…
Seniors have won over half the race already so don’t tell me this is your first time at it and the Northwest wins all the snow every year running so far.
I need the Flash Drive………because I do not have one. My neighbor has one and I want one too. Oh Lord, can’t I have a Mercedes Benz.
You got it, jusk ask your neighbor after all a good neighbor is closer than a brother that way it stays in the family.

Because, beig a subscriber of the Message board and Tips since 04-26-2003 I deserve it.
You deserve it but not by being a subsriber or we all would be getting one.
I would love to win the flash drive as I suppose everybody would. who can’t use the extra storage. Good luck to all but Ihope I win it.
Bet you already have more storage than you need since you don’t state how small your is.
Love the blogs and news letter, like everyone else. Who ever has enough portable memory? There is always something you need to store, move, install, or show someone on another system and flash drives makes it so much easier. Therefore I thought I’d give this little contest a shot. If you don’t try, you can win.
Try as we may shouldn’t we be saying what we need to store, move, install, or show someone to win this contest?
You and Worldstart have taught me almost everything I know about computers. Plus as another great-grandma separated from all her grandkids, and great grandkids I really need this flash drive to hold all the pictures of them as they grow up.
What about all those grandkid and great grandkid videos? You need two flash drives plus more and this is only for one.
I could really use this flash drive because even after increasing my RAM I sometimes get the message that my space is too low. I’ve been following you for years and owe most everything I’ve learned to you guys.
Learn the ram defrag rules and stop trying to skip it with a flash drive. Many defrags are free also.
Just got my new laptop from ya, it’s great a new flash drive would be a nice compliment for it. don’t ya think?
I would love to win this I need one all the time working on computers to back up files I read your news letters every day when I get up first thing on my BlackBerry. I have been a loyal customer and would buy more than I do but I’m on a fixed income so I could really use this. I only make a few extra $ when I work on friends computers. Thanks for all the good tips and keep up the good work.
Push your back up button or read all newsletters and see how easy it is without a flash drive.
I would really like to have this so I can put all my games on it
True gamers have xboxes and playstation hard drives for this purpose. PC gamers use websites and add on hard drives not skippy flash drives.
I would like the flash drive to load all of your e-mails, which I have saved in my AOL saved mail. I have been getting your e-mails for several years and have found then quite informative and helpful. I deserve to win as I have been a faithful subscriber for years and have referred other people.
Try saving all the offers and links on your favorites and see how much more space you can fill up and resign yourself to one with even a greater need.
I deserve to win, because I can’t get my family to save any money. So I can’t afford to buy it. If you have any ideas on how to get a family to save let me know.
A family that prays together saves together. You may be doing it on your own and will therefore get persecution because you are doing the right things and if so you have saved enough to get one on your own without family. They call it faith not affordability.
I’m a little late but I wouldn’t mind one of those cut elittle devils. I’m working on being a published writer and it would be so cool to have my work in progress backed up on it to take with me when I take my husband to the doctor and I have computer access.
Try Wordpad it is on every computer you may ever use. I do and simply copy it to a email and send or file it anywhere in cyper space.
I’m an old fart that has never had a flash drive, and would like to see how it might benefit me. Thanks for the chance to win one.
Hello. I think I deserve the flash drive because I’m in Canada and have to get bummed out about every deal you offer because you don’t ship to Canada.
ps: Love your blogs!
I need to win this, because with the passage of Obama care and being retired it is imparative I get all the free items I can. All my money will now be going to health care.
Uncle Sam gets your money because it is the only way he can give you all the free things you are all ready getting being retired and all. Private companies need not add more of the same.
Go ’round your neighborood and leave “thank you” notes on all the cars with Obama stickers. I guess once the get through making Medicare cuts (another due today), it won’t be there for any of us anyway. Then we can ALL go on welfare and get Medicaid. I feel soooo much better now.
I think I would like one of these, I am an elder woman and not very savvy on the computer, Steve has been my mainstay for the last 6 years , so.if he says I need one of these, I need it, but i would hate to buy one and not know if I like it or not, so if he gives me one, I could try it .for free !! lol tyvm no matter what, Steve , keep up the good work !
I am the Guru of computers for my whole family, including my 82 Year Old Mom! She hasn’t caught on that, most of what I know comes from y’all in one form or another… I get most of your newsletters and read all your tips! I get my software from y”all, too… I am constantly transferring files between Mom’s computer and mine, so I could really put that Cruzer to good use!!!
Try the cable they sell it is a better transfer device.
I am without a doubt your greatest FAN. I have been with Worldstart since it began and now your blog. Your comments
are terrific and always bring a smile. Norton Security is pestering me to backup my files, but I don’t have a flash drive-
so you will be getting Norton calmed down (whew) and making this fan VERY HAPPY.
May God bless all of you.
You have never answered one of my emails yet I am giving you a comment as requested and read all the emails I get from you even with links in them without trashing them first. So as you randomly pick a winner, consider this loyal reader that gets the good out what is sent and posted even to the point of dumping all I have saved to the new 8GB flash drive you can send me to free up my email storage, favorites, and hard disk.
Thank’s Steve,
I could use it for sure to get this stuff off my computer, unemployed at the time,
Oh, really enjoy your information you give us.
I think it total suck’s about XP going down I guess I’ll be with out internet when that happens, spend hundred’s of dollare on a computer an they think you suppose to trash it, an buy another one well I can’t an spent over 600.00 for mine plus all the extras, they should find a way for us XP users to keep out XP. thanks, Selene
Good grief! This site need to be renamed the Blue Hair Special. Are we ALL old farts here?
Hey, Steve. Please withdraw my name from the contest. I actually have several pen/flash drives that I have purchased from Worldstart over the past couple of years. Only one has failed so far, so I am still “rich” with several more. I see a lot of people here with a real need for the flash drive and even though I had fun teasing some of them, I know there are very deserving people here, all, well most, of whom deserve and would really benefit from your generosity.
Thanks for letting me “play” here.
Gotta go shovel snow. Have fun folks!
Thanks for the laughs, Sally!!
Dear Steve:
I am now a student in SUNY at Farmingdale, studying networking, programming, website develpoment, and MS Office 2007.
We all use flash drives in our classes, and I’m short on them. This 8Gb SanDisk Cruzer would be the perfect flash drive to
use in my classes, hold downloaded software, assignments, and backups for all my schoolwork.
Sincerely,
Robert
